If you entered the official London Marathon ballot but didn’t get a place, you can apply for one of LawCare’s Silver Bond places.
Please note that each runner is asked to raise a minimum of £2,000 for LawCare.
We will offer you:
- Regular updates and a dedicated point of contact at LawCare
- A running shirt (personalised, if you fancy that)
- Help and support from the comms team in sharing your story
- Cheers along the route and finish line meet and greet
- A pre-marathon get-together (with runners from Legal Runner who may be running for other charities also invited)
FAQs
When is the deadline for applications?
Applications open on 1 June 2026 and the deadline for applications is Friday 31 July 2026. We are unable to accept applications after this date.
Results will be announced in by mid-September 2026.
What do you ask about on the application form?
The application form asks a few questions about you, your connection to LawCare and how you plan to reach the minimum sponsorship target. Please include as much detail as you can, as this will help us when reviewing applications.
How will LawCare decide who gets the places?
Decisions will be based on the information provided in your application form. Please note that we can only consider applications from people who have already entered the main London Marathon ballot and were unsuccessful.
We would particularly like to offer places to people who have not run the London Marathon before, who have a connection to LawCare and the LegalRunner community, and who want to share why supporting mental health matters to them. We will also consider previous fundraising experience and your plans for reaching the £2,000 minimum sponsorship target.
If you’ve secured your own ballot place in the 2027 London Marathon, please consider joining Team LawCare and fundraising to support mental health in the legal sector.
Terms and conditions
- LawCare Silver Bond places will be allocated by mid-September. If successful, you will be required to confirm participation within ten days to secure your place.
